The conference aimed to provide investigators, specialist support personnel, first responders and forensic staff with the most up-to-date information on dangers associated with handling and exposure to drugs, local and worldwide drug trends and the most current drug investigation techniques.
CLIA 2024 presented a range of learning and networking opportunities, and this year Warsash supported a GOLD Sponsor!
CLIA 2024 events and opportunities included:
- Subject Matter Experts (SME)
Presentations were delivered by both international & national guests and experts in their field. - Practical Demonstrations
NSWP Clandestine Laboratory Detectives and TFSU staff provided a range of practical demonstrations exploring extraction, synthesis, and refinement processes. - Networking Opportunities
Cland Lab conferences are renowned to be the most important conference for those involved in clandestine laboratory investigations in respect to learning, sharing and networking with others involved in clandestine laboratory investigations. - Forensic Examination & Analysis
Technical Forensic Support Unit (TFSU) staff attend all Clandestine Laboratories with NSWP. Their tasks involve conducting on-site chemical analysis utilising portable instruments, such as Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectroscopy, Raman Spectroscopy, Gas Detection, Ion Mobility Spectrometry, and performing select wet chemical tests to preliminarily identify substances. TFSU staff were in attendance to assist with practical demonstrations.
